Arrive, pitch your tent and find your people. We’ll have a campfire going in the evening.
We met in Victoria, BC on October 25, 2019, over tacos. It was supposed to be a get-to-know-each-other dinner. A few days later we turned it into a camping trip.
The plan was Bamfield. The reality was hours of Vancouver Island back roads, and we figured out too late that we’d forgotten most of the food and all the bedding we needed. Somehow we made a good team anyway. A kind older couple spotted us, took us across the channel by boat, and gave us a campsite on their private beach, looking out over the Pacific.
That weekend kicked everything off. Before long we’d bought our first home together, a live-aboard sailboat named Nyala, while Bran built his software company in downtown Victoria. Then Ava went after her dream of becoming a pilot in New Brunswick, and Bran followed soon after.
He asked, and she said yes. The proposal happened inside a tunnel of a million lights, with our dog right at our feet and a very surprised Ava.
There were happy tears, a long kiss, and a ring held up to the nearest camera. Then we sat in a giant red chair with Duke and tried to stop grinning.
Now we’re planning the party we actually want: a mountain weekend with the people we love, a long potluck table, and a lot of games.
We’re getting married, and we’d love you to camp, eat, play and dance with us. It’s relaxed, outdoorsy and very much come-as-you-are.
Loose on purpose. Show up when you can, join in when you feel like it. Exact times will land here closer to the date.

Lawn games and a lazy morning, then our celebration. After that comes the potluck dinner, followed by music into the night.
A slow breakfast, a few more rounds of games, and goodbyes before everyone heads home.
We’re celebrating in the mountains around Mt Robson, about 80 km west of Jasper. The exact site and directions will go up here as soon as they’re locked in.
Most of us will be camping. We’ll book campsites for everyone based on the RSVPs, so please reply early. There should be enough sites for all of us.
Cabins at the venue are limited. If you want a proper room, check out Valemount and book early, because August is busy in the Rockies.
Dinner is a potluck. Add your dish to the sign-up list so we don’t end up with twelve potato salads.
Please reply by February 28. We’ll book campsites based on your answers, so the sooner the better.
RSVPs open soon. Check back here.

Dinner is a potluck, and the weekend runs on lawn games. Add what you’re bringing so everyone can see what’s covered. Bring your favourite lawn game and we’ll set it up as a station for everyone to use.
